Decorative patterns are stripped away for the sake of pure geometric forms. The form is further emphasised by combining different materials such as wood, metal and leather. This way of flirting with different materials was a key component of the iconic chairs designed by celebrated modernists, such as the Wassily chair by Marcel Breuer or the school chair by Friso Kramer.
The eyewear designs are based on 6 chairs from Tim’s own interior. In homage to these modernist heroes, each model bears the first name of the (furniture) designer. The glasses are understatedly simple, but exceptional in form. And just like in these iconic designs, two beautiful materials are combined: carefully selected coloured acetate – plain or printed – with matte or shiny metal.
