‘Lichtbalans’ 1985 – Jan Dries
Photography: Peter de Kort

Tim Van Steenbergen found inspiration in the sculptures of Jan Dries. This Belgian modernist artist was fascinated by light, shape and volume. To bridge the gap with the bright world of theo, Tim opted for the colour variations in crystals and minerals. Tim captures the sense of balance and minimalism of Jan Dries’ sculptures in frame silhouettes of gaudy acetate that relinquish their secrets through the play of volume and light. They evolve with the time and the place where they are worn: understatedly elegant or full-on radiant.
